Terms & Conditions

Last updated 30 Oct 2026

These terms apply to every cab hire, tour package and airport transfer booked with Pranjal Taxi Service ("we", "us"), based at Police Bazar, Shillong, Meghalaya. By confirming a booking with us you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, please ask us on WhatsApp before you book.

1. Enquiries and quotes

  • Enquiries sent through this website, WhatsApp, phone or email are not bookings. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it to you in writing on WhatsApp or email.
  • Our quotes depend on the final itinerary, vehicle type, number of days, travel dates and season. A quote is valid for the period stated in it. If no period is stated, it may change if fuel prices, permit rules or road conditions change before you confirm.
  • Package itineraries on this website are sample plans. Your confirmed itinerary is the one we agree with you in writing.

2. What a cab quote usually covers

Unless your written quote says otherwise, a cab quote covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel and the driver's allowance for the agreed itinerary. The following are usually not included and are paid by the traveller:

  • Hotel stays, meals and drinks
  • Entry tickets, camera fees, boating, safari, guide and activity charges
  • Permits such as the Arunachal Pradesh Inner Line Permit (ILP) or Protected Area Permit (PAP), and any extra permits for restricted areas
  • Parking and toll charges, if your quote says they are extra
  • Extra kilometres, extra days or detours beyond the agreed itinerary

Your quote will list exactly what is and isn't included. If it differs from this page, the quote applies.

3. Payment

  • We may ask for an advance to confirm your booking. The amount and how to pay it will be shared with your quote.
  • The balance is payable as agreed in writing, usually before or during the trip. Please ask for a receipt for every payment.
  • Charges for extra kilometres, hours or days are settled at the end of the trip.

4. Changes and cancellations

  • By you: please tell us about any change or cancellation as early as possible, in writing. Cancellation charges depend on how close to the travel date you cancel and on any costs we have already paid on your behalf. These charges are shared with your quote.
  • By us: if we have to cancel because of a vehicle breakdown or a reason within our control, we will try to arrange a replacement vehicle. If we can't, we will refund the advance you paid us.
  • Weather and road closures: hill roads in the North East can close because of landslides, snow, floods, strikes (bandhs) or administrative orders. In such cases we may change the route or order of sightseeing for your safety. Days lost to such events can't be refunded once the trip has started, but we will do our best to make up the plan.

5. Airport and railway pickups

  • Please share your flight or train number and the name and phone number of the lead traveller.
  • For airport pickups we track your flight and the driver waits for a reasonable time after landing. Long waits caused by delays unrelated to the flight may be charged.
  • For airport drops, we suggest a pickup time based on traffic and season. We can't be responsible for missed flights if the pickup time is changed or delayed at the traveller's request.

6. Driving hours and safety

  • For your safety, our drivers generally avoid long drives on hill roads after dark. In Arunachal Pradesh especially, daily driving plans are made around daylight.
  • The driver decides on safe speeds, routes and stops, and may refuse to continue if road or weather conditions are unsafe.
  • Smoking, alcohol and illegal substances are not allowed in our vehicles. Please don't ask the driver to break traffic rules or carry more passengers than the vehicle's seating capacity.
  • Travellers are responsible for any damage they cause to the vehicle beyond normal wear.

7. Luggage and belongings

Please keep your valuables with you. We will help to find anything left in the vehicle, but we are not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings.

8. Permits and documents

Travellers must carry a valid government photo ID. For Arunachal Pradesh, Indian citizens from outside the state need an Inner Line Permit, and foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit. We can guide you through the process, but approval is decided by the authorities. We are not responsible if entry is refused because a permit or document is missing or invalid.

9. Limitation of liability

We take every reasonable care to give you a safe and comfortable trip. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service. We are not liable for delays or losses caused by events outside our control. These include weather, natural disasters, road closures, traffic, strikes, government action, or delays by airlines, railways or hotels.

10. Third-party services

When we help you book hotels, safaris, boats or guides, those services are provided by third parties under their own terms. We will help if there is a problem, but we are not responsible for their service.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Shillong, Meghalaya.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page on the date you confirm your booking applies to that booking.
